Yes Aussies go to NZ scout junior talents as Kiwis have far too much talent. Unfortunately league in NZ is not promoted at schools, only rugby. Kids at colleges/high schools who cannot make the schools' top rugby team go to league and league is only played at club level.Maybe one day Kiwis can promote league on a bigger scale and if so provide tough competition for the aussies.
Having said that rugby is far more global than league so cannot see that happening.
