Richard Sapias and his team are now at the helm at The PNGRFU.
Waiseli Sereviis the new Sevens coach.
Will Billy Rapilla, Paul Joseph and Kevin Rooney be replace as 15's Coaches?
What about the Juniors and their coaches?
Anybody got any idea?
League, talk about and contribute meaningfully to Rugby league. Leave union to us, people who love the game regardless of where we stand internationally.
If you do not care about union like you said, then keep ya thoughts to yourself.
I care about union..but the sad thing is we are crushed by little pacific Island Nations..Unlike league were we dominate in the south pacific except for the Australia and new zealand..so ye it's kinda waste of time supporting that whatever you call "Union" in PNG, cause it sure aint Rugby...Ah league..don't we love it, fight for it and even die for it..families breakup over it and our Christian faith is tested because of it...the whole nation screams as one when the Kumuls score a try ...Rugby League is the greatest game of it all..
league wins games because the crowd can scare the **** out of the opposition.
how else are we going to win games. clear example? we got beaten by samoa. why? the whole tribe couldn't travel to apia to scare the **** out of their players.
most league players are no hopers with their brains as small as their saggy balls...this might explain why their violent mentality "offloads" off the field to supporters like you who run around the household trying to break up your family for no real reason...
don't put your christian faith garbage here too because if you at least had some common sense in that saggy brain of yours do you think you'd test your faith, break up your family? get real and harden up - you're too saggy!
hell, it's not the whole nation that screams, it's the violent crowd that screams not because a kumul's scored a try but some brainless drunken idiot has just unintentionally grabbed you by those sad looking saggy balls of yours and squeezed it to his own satisfaction??? It does hurt, so just be honest and don't make it an excuse of yelling out loud because a Kumul scored.
I agree Rugby League could be the greatest game of all...but if you have so many punch-ups, police brutally assaulting spectators and spectators crashing through fences - who in their right mine would support your saggy ball brains?
what u need to do is leave those who love their sport and i am sure they too will leave you and your Gay'est game of all...
How could such an important Level 1 and Level 2 Coaching clinic which started yesterday go publicly unnanounced (until the Sunday chronicle yesterday)about open invitation to all to attend it at the Ela Beach hotel?
No wonder the code is dead and will always play fourth fiddle to League, and soccer. PNGRFU should have invited interested villagers around NCD and Central, even in the other provinces to attend this Coaching Clinic in a bid to develop RUGBY in PNG. Hanuabada is gearing up for the country's innaugural off-season Rugby 15s comp...why couldnt the top-shots at PNGRFU invite the organisers or their delegates to attend this coaching clinic? No wonder...yupla iet hait na atenim ol coaching clinic ,,,,,,,na seletkim yupla iet long pukpuk...
Nilpis blo mussau, You better check your facts first before putting up arguements on this scape.
All clubs were advise on this course and if you are in the dark then I suggest you get in touch with the club you align yourself with and put your arguements to them.
You seem to be blaming The PNGRFU about all little things that you see wrong without even reasoning out why things are not going the way you want it to be.
For your information all clubs were advised on this course. (Both Level 1 and 2)
Interestingly, from reliaable sources, the Level 2 was suppose to cater for about 16 - 20 people but only four turned up. One was a Premier and Rep Coach and the other 3 were Senior rep players. What about all the others who were suppose to attend. Oh you expect the PNGRFU car to go and pick them up from their houses?
So Mussau, I know you are player or administrator of a certain club in the POMRFU so you get back to your club and sort yourself out with them. Bihain ok yu ken sutim pinga lo PNGRFU.
Nimum, tenkiu tru long stretim toktok. It is true that in the club I am in, no toksave was given on this. I only got to see this in the papers - first in the post last week, and then in the Sunday Chronicle, on the day it was starting. So, yes, when you see it from my angle, who then can I blame? And I would also think that the news of this clinics was not diseminated by the respective managers to their clubs...as such the poor attendance on the Level 2 ticket.
I guess we will just have to wait for the next one then...since the clinic is already into its third day. wanbel istap!
In order for the PNGRFU to grow, is to FRANCHISE THE SPORT, make it in to a semi-professional sport. Get corporate backing from Exxon Mobil,InterOil,Barrick Mines, SP, MRDC, Telikom, Digicel, WR Carpenters, Ela Motors etc, companies who have the money to spend/burn, it gives these companies a good image whilst getting free publicity.
Look at Rugby League, they have the backing of the likes of Albert Veratau, who has powerful contacts (he was once SP Snr Mrktng Manager).
Also NSL-Soccer, Mr. Kapi Natto (Landowner,PRK Chairman,MD for Kutubu Security Serv. & a boardmember of some of landowner Kutubu companies) he has powerful contacts and money from royalties to spend.
Soccer was once a dwindling association but when big corporate companies got behind them, it LITERALLY changed the sport altogether, same could be said for Rugby League.
Reasons:
i)Motivation - players will get paid for playing, money will be their biggest motivation. (you'll see how the number of players will line up to get signed)- potential & current players.
ii)Franchise - the teams should be franchised into provincial teams(coz there is more passion in ones province then in a region as a whole ). Companies who are willing to sponsor will have to pay eg: K300,000 to PNGRFU for the rights, - easy big hard cash, no sweat! (It has worked for Rugby League & Soccer).
iii)Research - identify the union playing provinces, if need be organise coaching clinics for potential provinces. Madang, Kavieng,ENBP, etc have strong followings, also the other provinces.
Problem is...rugby get more money from IRB than league...but see where league is going..they are reaching higher grounds.....yumi kaikai dust na stap....wssshhh give up
na moni kam long IRB hao yumi save usim ? A good example was yesterday's timing of the MRDC 7s. You had the most popular sport in PNG being played across the oval and you still went ahead with the tournament. How can we promote the code when we misfire all time?
Problem is...money is coming in but PNGRFU does not show statements to clubs as to how the money is spent. just a simple in-coming and out-going would be great. displa kain hide hide nambaut ya mekim ol man give up. Clubs register their teams and have a right to know how much comes in and out and how much is spent on what.
and as for the 7's comp over the weekend, congrats lo ol rebels..yupla ol trupla mangi. but winning 8 grand is a joke. just last week yumi harim 90 grand was given for the 7's comp and to think only 8 grand was on offer is ridiculous. maybe 20 000 or 30 000 for first prize will be good. coz i hear teams spend almost 15000 to attend this MRDC 7's and to win 8000 is not justified.
Tsk, tsk, tsk, tsk...sampla mani mas go sideways ken ia...overheard over the weekend also that theres a small bit of diau still to pay for the Jnr Pukpuks' lodging at the Kanini Lodge...tru or giaman tasol mi harim olsem na mi putim so that sapos itru, PNGRFU mas go bekim dinau nau...sapos ino tru, then ol askan laik bagarapim nem ken!
I think it all boils down to planning & management. Before the season proper, all respective officials should sit down together and properly analyse the up-coming years events.
i)Accounts - firstly, a proper accountant/accounting firm should be hired to do up the books properly.
ii)Calender - plan out the years activities/events and lay them out so that they do not clash with major Rugby League/Soccer events (or other codes for that matter).
iii)Budgeting - a proper budget & costing should be done up for the different divisions or for staging upcoming events. eg: Premiers, A, B, junior grades including the womens. How much money should be allocated to each division, and for sevens or other tourneys.
The Rugby Union admin needs a person or a group of people who have fore-sight for growing the code if it is to make any difference to counter Rugby League/Soccer growing threat or any other code for that matter.
