My countrymen and women I am just fed up with Aurther Somare and his ICT Policy. Why pushing it through when we the ordinary Papua New Guineans are benefiting from Digicel's Service? Though it is a foreign company, it is serving the needs of PNG at an afforfable rate.
Telekom generates millions for the country. That is what young Somare says. Yeh...this millions ends up in the pocket of a few like himself. The rest of us suffer.
He wants to keep us in the stone age while only his children, family and himself would benefit from expensive communication services.
Remember he was not like us educated in community schools, high schools and universities in PNG, he was a spoiled brat educated overseass with PNG tax payers money and running aroung with cell phones in sports cars.
Shame on him!

If Arthur Somare was really concerned about telecommunications in PNG he should be looking at privatisation as most in the west are doing, and open the doors to all international competitors just look at USA, Europe, Australia and even Asia and all the service providers they have.
The PNG Government would stand to make a substantial amount of money through semi or full privatisation. And not to just jump into bed with any service provider who would line minister’s pockets but one who would look to take PNG into the future.
Not only would this improve telecommunications in the Country but it would also provide more jobs in the industry.

And yes you are quite right about the Somare education background, if the system of community schools is good enough for you and me why is not good enough for the children of prominent politicians.
I guess they realise that the education curriculum in PNG is not good enough, and if that’s the case why do they send their children overseas, they should be looking to improve our education system at home for all to benefit, it really is a slap in the face for voters in general.
