      Darkness within darkness without
Darkness around me, stealing my shouts
      Darkness weakens darkness with-holds
darkness surrounds me, eating my soul.
      There's a blackness inside a darkness that
      hides
A darkness that rides, just beneath my life.
      There's a chamber inside, a darkness
      disguised
An abyss of night, just behind my smile.
Don't stand too close, who knows what
      you'll see
Maybe a soul grown old, or the alien in me
There's a darkness lurking, buried in me
A dual identity, that's trying to get free.
      Something hidden, and aeons old
That's begun to surface, in words wrote
A hidden unknown a dreadful rose
A second shadow as dark as coal.
      Darkness within darkness without
Darkness in dreams, that titter out loud
Darkness in me darkness my shroud
      Darkness that creeps through darkest
      clouds
I'm afraid to dream, of the darkness that
      sleeps
Of the darkness that breathes, on the edge
      of dreams
Only Morpheus knows of what it might be
Of the darkness that dreams, on isle of
      me....
