Mangi-nambis

if u see dis, ul kno who..........

in the misty shadows
of snow crowned Elimbari
as chilli dawn broke the tribal sorrows
over da the wild country
ma brada 4rom anada mada
was born ..a dredlock rasta
he spoke a laughing thunda
too good a rugby league playa
and to boot a natural lida

we met at uni de ada
side o’ Taraka
‘n became best a’
buddies, we shared bongs o' ganja
listenend to reggae…
talked about Russ’a ‘n C’ba
chased girls
watched blues 'n drank many bia
He studied chemicals
sang and clapped de Alleluiha
I misunderstood de transista
And hunted for ganja
across at West Taraka

We parted uni back in da
eighties, me without ma pepa
I returned to uni ...and stayed there fo eva
Became a fada
and now a grand fada
But about ma brada
from anada mada
I haven’t the faintest idea

So if yu out there
somewhere
ma brada
Give me a holla
And lets get together
Drink fire water
and smoke a bit o’ kaya
Listen to reggae
and talk ‘bout da whateva………..
