..a tribute to Dr Martin Luther King Jr, on the annivarsary of his assasination. One of the three modern day greats of non-violent
disobedience as a statement to tyranny (Thoreau and Gandhi being
the others), who exemplified with their lives the lives and teachings
of the great leaders and teachers of bygone days (the great Greeks
Plato, Socratas, et al), Moses, Jesus, Mohamet, Budha, Krishna, et al)....

A dream spoke
of decency
and outa the smoke
rose a soul of ebony

revolutionary
or prophet?
visionary
or dreamy poet?

yelled truth to power
marched for the dream, the peace lover
against those in the ivory tower
and became another martyr

but e’en if the strugglers pause
after their shepherd falls
against evil’s force
dreams have no walls

as we approach high noon
of the oppressors disappointment
we recall a familiar tune;
to that promised land Moses never went

Of course he leads almost there
But could only see from afar
'fore he’s whisked yonder...
...land of milk and honey…’tis somewhere near….. almost here...
