The Giant...in Gulliver's Travels
(a suplement on the US Economic situation by M-n)

----------------------------------------------
So the giant is still drunk?
After decades of overindulgence
with the Kina SP
actually..more like the 'Dollar Budweiser'
And over extended himself
in so many bar fights
and taking the fights all over town
with the puny tiny Lilliputians.

Or is he just reeling dangerously?
Perilously close to the drain
slowly recovering from the hangover
while all the Lilliputians
concerned that if he falls
may just kill himself
and crush so many of them in the process

He keeps promising himself
No more drinks
No more bar fights
From now on
Im ginna work on being straight

So many Lilliputians are hopeful
And encouraged
Yet so many after the terror
Are traumatized and still apprehensive
Many may never trust the giant again
And watch from afar
Hoping he does fall
And kill himself..

But the rest of the Lilliputians
Hope he recovers
So that they may be saved
From being crushed by his fall

The Drunk Giant....revised version...
----------------------------------------------------

So the giant is still drunk?
After decades of overindulgence
with the Dollar Budweiser he was sunk
numbed, abusing the sugar narco substance

And over extended himself too
in so many bar and street fights
wmd nuclear barstools flew
in dusty anthrax and white phosphorus nights

took the fights all over town
backed by a gang of ruffians
against the puny tiny Lilliputians
whom he just couldnt keep down

Or is he just recovering slowly
from an expensive capitalist hangover
reeling and teetering dangerously
close to anarchys drain of sewer

while the Lilliputians on the main street
are concerned that if he crashes
crush so many of them on their feet
and even killing himself in the process

his Lehman Brothers wallet
full in wall street formerly
now lies in the ditch torn an empty
Somewhere on history street

some of his jewelry
have fallen
some threaten

his ENRON charger
his JP Morgan swiss wrist watch
his AIG diamond ring,
his Fanny Mae Freddy Mac gold necklace

His credibility belt is gone
His Goldman Sachs slacks are soiled and torn
But he cant take them off
Clutching them tightly around his midriff

His ride, the GM mobile
threatens to crash
with his driver also drunk
or with a bad hangover
He may have sacked the driver I guess

Now and then he gulps down
some stimulus package bailout coffee
From a mysterious flask
Hoping to speed up his recovery
To sobrierity

He keeps promising himself
No more drinks
No more bar fights
From now on
Im ginna work on being straight

So many Lilliputians are hopeful
And encouraged
Yet so many after the terror
Are traumatized and still apprehensive
Many may never trust the giant again
And watch from afar
Hoping he does fall
And kill himself..

But the rest of the Lilliputians
Hope he recovers
So that they may be saved
From being crushed by his fall
