Yo Ralf intresting obsevation.Yes through out PNG the keepers of knowledge tried so hard to preseve knowledge.Missionaries and colonials came and divide everything into two groups,demons and angels.What was ours was evil and what whiteman brought with them was good.Knowledge keepers did what they figured was the only way to preserve important things and that is to move them underground and teach it thru the manshaus and secret societies
Missionaries and colonials tried to potray our men as not sensual,not romantic and animalistic who only love war.But when you look at it ,in some PNG cultures - women and sex rule it in a very intresting and often powerful way.
True, worriors often go to war but when they come back they had to go thru a purification process.Some lasting a few weeks.War is evil and we know that.We hated it.
But white colonial administrators would go on expeditions ,kill a few natives then go back home have sex with their wifes the same night and tell them of what happen even with blood still on their boots.
Most of what is ours is lost.
