Response to ice age ...again another theory |
| I know that you stubbornly refuse to correct your ignorance. This posting is for the benefit of intelligent readers who don't want to be pulled back into the dark middle ages of Europe where religion always dominated science.
Virtually everything in science is a theory. This is done purposely.
The reason is to keep the door open to countless retests, challenges, etc.
The way you re-test and challenge a scientific theory is to provide evidence. Either side can provide evidence, either pro or con against a theory. The door is open.
The ice age phenomenon isn't 1 theory, it is many interconnected theories because it is quite complex, much more complex than a simple Bible story or a simple brain.
For each theory being tested, by many different scientists, usually in many countries and over many years, it is like a court case. Whichever side the evidence generally falls is generally considered to be reality. However, the word truth is not used in science because the power of science (over the Bible) in accurately explaining the world around us lies in it being very flexible, always open to challenges, always open to new evidence.
Simple minds cannot handle a complex pursuit of the truth. Simple minds try to reduce complex phenomena or approaches to learning the truth by using rhetoric.
You can see that very clearly in this thread. |
