The story first says its a large animal believed to be an ape or monkey, then the Police Chief says the only description he has is it is a foot and a half tall.
They also had an incident with a monkey a few years back.

The listing for Arkansas has 4 primates listed at Wild Wilderness Safari, However An employee at the Wild Wilderness Drive-Thru Safari in Gentry who did not wish to be identified said no animal matching the description had escaped from the park. It should be interesting to see how this turns out.
