Now that's a vocal...LOL

I have those things behind my house. Or a relative of such, maybe larger.
They are really vocal sometimes. I have a recording of two of them that I
got by leaving a voice-activated recorder out.
On the recording, one is really close and the other is far off in the distance.
Really mean and big sounding. LOL

Haven't managed to see them yet so I can't be sure exactly what type they are.
But they are big cats of some sort. We actually had one on the roof one night
that squalled like an eagle and woke up the hubby before leaping down
onto the front porch with a big thud, awaking and startling my dog
and then running off down the driveway.

When we go out after dark, we check the area good and the roof as well before proceeding.

Where did you get such a good vocal Robert? It sounds like you are right there with it...Or was it one that Pegleg got? Anyway it is a good one. Wish I knew what it is but i'm afraid I don't know!

Cat

Hope I never have to come across that animal too upclose and personal. I have a fishin' buddy that came across a big cat one day. He was fishing a creek, when he found a half eaten deer, and cat tracks all around it, so he fished his way up the creek when he found another deer, and the cat with it. Luckily the cat left him alone.

I was just listening to Lisa's sounds she has and it is sort of the same loud and big sound.

I know now what they sound like. I haven't ever heard them before even though I have been to the zoo in my life I can't ever recall hearing them quite that loud until I heard yours and Lisa's.
Those big cats I seen in the middle fork bottom area around here probably did sound that way if I had heard them.

I have had a lynx here behind my house although it did not sound that loud. Though a lynx is not but about half the size as the bigger wild cats like the cougar and all. They definately make a house cat sound very small in comparison though.
