Something I just thought of.

Nathan, what's the approximate specs of an Alliance class, and who contributes what?

We know that the power core is a Vorlon thing, and the Humanx give the Brain-case to pilot it, or at least, some of them, but the guns can't be beamguns, cause it doesn't have a Minovsky reactor.

So what, approximately, _does_ it have?

And how _big_ is the thing? Is it a jumpship?

Brief meditations, and close study of the Star Muchkin set i bought at Dragon-con on Saturday, have reminded me that we have been seriously remiss.

In all of shiningspiral, we have yet to provide for the existance of Catgirls.

We must rectify this error, immediately.

Where should they go, and who should they go to?

*cough* *cough*

*ahem*

With respect to Catgirls and other anthropomorphic animals, they'd likely show up in the following places:

- The Taiidani have extensive and highly unpleasant black biotech experiments. They likely have varieties of human/animal crossbreed all the way from grotesque killing machines to human + cute ears and tail. They are invariably the property of either a specific Taiidani noble or the Empress herself, and are created to fill specific functions. No real social mobility here. In taiidani space, animal/human crosses of whatever variety are considered escaped property by default, unless there is a good reason to think otherwise.

- There are truly impressive numbers of inhabited worlds that haven't been integrated into galactic society much if at all. A fair number of them have native humanoid species.

- minor (and semimajor) cosmetic alterations are quite easy in many parts of the spiral. Ears-and-tail conversions in the Commonwealth, for example, are somewhat looked down upon, but they are done, and not too difficult. The practice is maintained by a small (percentage) but rabid furry subculture. The Noro generally look at them a bit askance, but having a few animal features isn't enough to require Help all by itself. Note that this is a baseline, and various worlds within the Commonwealth fall on either side.

If anyone wants a spacefaring catgirl race, they're gonna have to do the writeup themselves, but this should give a fair amount of leeway to include furry characters .

>In taiidani space, animal/human crosses of whatever variety are considered escaped property by default, unless there is a good reason to think otherwise.<

Such as a Ctarl Ctarl passport, though that sort of requires that the Imp in question be the sort to notice such subtle details.

>If anyone wants a spacefaring catgirl race, they're gonna have to do the writeup themselves, but this should give a fair amount of leeway to include furry characters.<

The Ctarl Ctarl Empire controls about forty worlds in a cluster midway between Hivehom and Sentinal. They have extensive relations with the Humanx and the Juraii, but are otherwise mostly involved with the chaotic-but-profitable happenings of the Toward Stars.

Economicly, they're entirely self sufficient, and most of their trade balance comes from peddling self contained bits of high tech across the Toward Stars.

Technologicly, they're at or right below Spiral average, relying on spin grav, PCCs, and plasma weapons.

Militarily, they're biased towards capships, which type they build very respectable examples of.

Personally, they tend to be slightly shorter and slightly, hmm, slighter than a human but with a higher proportion of muscle mass. IOW, small but ripped. They have an apparently racial ability to resist damage and, under certain circumstances, perform a limited duration shapeshift into a large, physically powerful carnivorous feline. Distinguishing characteristics include fangs, slitted eyes, dark tan complexions, and large, mobile triangular ears in place of (and in the same place as) conventional human ones.

Crossfertility with humans is rumored but has never been confirmed, although the two species are certainly compatible at a more mechanical level.

Personality wise, they tend to be agressive, fearless, and somewhat exitable. They are aware of this, and screen those bound for high position for the ability to think ahead and keep cool under pressure.

Blessed be.

Catgirls!

There are cat people in the Cluster - in fact there are two closely related species as well as the rather more catty Orions outside their borders. Neither is particularly prone to 'catgirls' though. Both species are from Talavera in the GalEmp.

Yek - the dominant species on Talavera (about thirty percent of the population and ninety percent of the authority positions) they are almost entirely human except for claws and impressive resilience. A few throwbacks have fangs. Found through most of the GalEmp as they made up a previous dynasty and very common in the ground forces. There are several otehr races other than Yek but they were conquered long ago and most outsiders make no distinctions.

Marakan - almost entrely concentrated in the north-west continent of Talavera, the Marakan are primitives and much more catlike with fur, cat ears and lion-like faces. They are definitely related to the Yek far back in the distant past and off Talavera are most commonly found on Mort as mercenaries.

*blinkblink* You mean you can't see the Commonwealth representative walking around schmoozing and asking the Vorlon, "Can these cores produce Minovskis?"

Vorlon: "Yes."

>So what, approximately, _does_ it have?<

Centauri Ion Bolt Cannon: 4
Narn Particle Beam Cannon: 7
Mimbari Interceptor Batteries: 18
Havenite Missile Tubes/Missiles: 8/104

>And how _big_ is the thing? Is it a jumpship?<

Yes, about 25 ktons for a I and 30 for a II - that's loaded, BTW.

Blessed be.

(Oh, and the presence of the Toward Stars and Sentinel both mean that the Ctarl Ctarl are probably around.)
