This has been bugging me for a while, so...

http://fnord.sandwich.net/spiralmap-revised.jpg

A few points:

1) Yes, I know the thing's too small to read properly. This is a (slightly) smaller K-wise version just to see what y'all think.

2) The big revision to this is I changed the Sector borders to they were all equal slices of the Spiral. The primary changes incurred by this are:

*The Darkvoid is now no longer in both Taiidani and Silesia Sectors, but rather completely inside the Silesia Sector.

*Alderaan, Grendel, Dragonsway, Mistport and Kharak are now in Silesia Sector instead of Taiidani

*Most of the Minbari Federation, about half of the AAnn Empire and a good chunk of the Vorlon are now inside the Taiidani Sector.

*The Andermani Empire has moved almost completely into Haven Sector, as has Manticore (Basilisk remains in Cameron Sector, but it's almost on the border now.)

*The Humanx Commonwealth and the Centauri Republic are no longer biscted by the Centauri/Jurai line. As a result, Hivehom and Sentinel are now in Centauri Sector, along with a larger portion of the Jurai Empire.

The political borders are still the same, so are the names.

Comments? Critiques? Nasty Names? If this FUs anybody's stories-in-progress or there are other outright objections, I'll roundfile this and we can continue on with the earlier Map Boy creation.

It has the virtue of correcting the irregularity of sectors that was brought on by my sloppy art skills-so-called.

The Centauri Empire, it is worth noting, was once -much- larger than it is now - about the time of the fall of the Roman Republic, it occupied most of the modern Centauri sector, including all of what is now held by the Commonwealth, Narn, Drazi and AAnn.

Blessed be.

Yeah, it makes me wish I'd done that before fiddling with the political borders.

(No, I am *not* screwing with star positions/polity borders! Not again!)

Looks good. The only thing I'd say is that the Lyran Alliance was named the Lyran Commonwealth during the timeframe specified by Nathan.

OTOH: I don't think anyone's planning anything there, so it may not matter.

Well, accuracy is always important, regardless of who's planning what. Besides, it's an easy thing to fix in Illustrator. ^_^

Silesia & Haven

Hmm, having read War of Honor, it does occur to me that the layout of the various star nations from the books doesn't match that in the spiral.

Originally, Manticore and the Alliance form an arc or line between Haven and Silesia, with the Andermanni even further from Haven but not actually BEHIND Silesia.

On the map, I suppose this would be more accurate if Silesia and Haven were swapped for locations - forcing Haven to expand around the Darkvoid. Shift the Andermanni towards the Core a little and the ALliance is suddenly a border area dominated by Manticore.

*shrug* Well, it doesn't exactly help that the Spiral versions of the HH nations are something like 10,000 times larger, either.

Map Boy Pronouncement: Polity borders and placement, being the only thing on the damn map that I'm totally satisfied with, will not change unless the LE wishes it done.
