Admiral der Sternen der Graf von Lohengramm stalked down
the hall to the shuttleport, cape fluttering behind and
eyes snapping furiously.
"Well, my lord? How'd it go?" asked his aide as the taller
man fell in half a step behind.
The admiral reeled himself in and turned to face his
lifelong friend. "Did you hear what he said about her?!"
"He's a fool. What does it matter? Do we get the ships?"
He stared at his junior for a startled moment, then
regained his composure and laughed. "No. Not that any of
it matters. We don't need the ships. And as to Annerose...
You're right. He's a fool."
They walked on. "Not that it matters, as long as we
hold the Iserlohn Junction."
Guess.
Silesia's a very free, democratic sort of place, even if the politicos wouldn't know a moral if it bit them.
Blessed be.

Wild ride. Many elements of the Empire would fit with the Taiidani, but that would raise the question of where to put the Alliance. By melding them into the Silesian sector, we fit in something new and interesting, develop our versions of Silesia and the Andermani, and answer the question of just what's happening -there- during Act II.
W/regards to coordinates, my thought would be to have locations defined on a polar coordinate system, with 0 set to run through the center of the Darkvoid (hey, it's the biggest natural landmark you're going to find, right?) and R values between 0 (exact galactic center) and 100 (which would be some arbitrary value defining the 'edge of the galaxy'.

We have the Guild, with their Mortar Headds. We also have the Joker System, where they get the technology and occaisionally commission Fatimas (they -can- make their own Fatimas, but those really aren't so good, as Fatimas go).
So, my idea: on one of the lesser Class V bodies in the Joker System, people speak an -entirely- different language. Their word for Mortar Headd is Guymelef.
Blessed be.

Ah. The place's name wouldn't happen to be Gaea ... er ... Gaia ... err ... whatever, that place from Escaflowne.
Hmm ... then is it Earth hanging in the sky overhead (a version) or just a reasonable facsimile thereof?
Or is it simply a projection of a rift through Quantum Space that can be seen from the planet only.
Waitaminute ... does that mean that the Guymelefs are gonna have to have to use Fatimas too?
In any case, I like it! And not only because of the catgirls^^

Why, yes it would. (Subtitles say it's Gaea, BTW)

I'll declare that Gaea is a planet, and considerably larger and heavier than is usual for Class V - large enough that it's moon/partner body, while much smaller, is still big enough to hold a stable Class V environment of its own.
And most Class V's look alike from orbit, anyway.
>Waitaminute ... does that mean that the Guymelefs are gonna have to have to use Fatimas too?
I hadn't thought about it, but it -does- give us an actual plot reason for Merle's existence.

That brings up the question of size. I caught a rerun of an Escaflowne episode yesterday and can't help but notice ... aren't the Guymelefs smaller than Headds. Are you going to play with scale here, and make them a little bit bigger? For one thing, I don't think Merle could fit in there otherwise ...
(blinkblink)
I just had the oddest image of Escaflowne pouncing on top of another mecha and starting to use it as a scratching post ... weird.

That was the plan, yes.
And don't speak to me of any butchery of such genius.
Blessed be.
