C'mon - you can't see Juri as a parallel to the Jurai, or Saionji to the Taiidani? Miki and Kozue as Anderman and Silesia, respectively?

Not quite that directly, of course. But I like the general concept of having Ohtori Academy's goings-on reflect a lot of the larger galaxy...

The ironic thing is that if it weren't for Gryph and SoS, I probably wouldn't care for Utena at all.
