Quick check...As of right now, what's the status on Washuu? Who/what is she? Are there any specific nifty tech things that she can do that (almost) nobody else can? What are her theoretical limits? I assume her major goals are pretty much Support/Enjoy Tenchi and Save Juraii (in that order) - am I missing any?

Lessee...

She's old. Like, really old. She might, or might not, have been involved in the initial establishment of the Juraiian tech base - the engineering of the trees and the creation Homo sapiens jurai.

So. Somewhere between 20k and 40k years old, biased towards the top end.

She -can't- replicate what the Xunca did - can't recreate the Nexus, or Horseye, or the Council Hall. She -can- hack it - which is something even the Vorlon can't manage.

She doesn't have a precise understanding, an equation, of psitech (gods, talent, and the like) - nobody does. But she does have a -working- definition for it, and a pretty good one, sort of like how physicists today can work with gravity - they don't really know what it -is-, but they can predict how it will act... up to a point.

In all the rest of the galaxy there are only three places you can find anything close.

First, Setsuna isn't as much of a scientist as Washu, but her natural frame of reference meant that she -started- -out- already having the hardest piece of the puzzle... and she's had a lot longer to work at it.

Second, the Jurai have a much cruder understanding of psi - closer to 'rock fall down' than 'F=G*((M*M)/r^2)', but still enough to do some real work with.

And third, there's a minor pocket power outboard of the Darkvoid called the Skolian Empire. General tech level somewhere between Centauri and Mimbari, somewhat more with computers and much less with genetic and biotechnologies. Their theoretical framework for psi isn't quite up to Washu's, but they've done a lot more with practical application than she has.

Basic guideline... If -anybody- -else- in the galaxy has a technology to do a given thing, so does she. She might or might not be a step or two ahead of them, your discretion. If nobody else has a clue, she might be able to guess - but doesn't know.

Blessed be.
