Private arenas exist,

WHY??

Stabbed at midnight,
By Punches in full flight,
Peace is rudely interrupted,
And love is sent packing,

Shots of pain,
Surface in tear filled eyes,
Searching for the man they love,
In this now possessed creature,
Lost...confused...and lonely
all at once...

In complete disbelief,
The spirit vacates the body,
Watching from a distant,
Numbing the pain awhile,
A vague occurrence,
In some distant sphere
of existence,
not hers,

Retreating within,
Behind hearts closed door,
She quietly nurses
Invisible wounds
Flashes of the episode,
Haunt her quiet moments,
Leaving voids,
In rooms where
love once frolicked,

Faded love poems,
Carved into the walls,
T’was only yesterday it seems,
When sugar was sweet,
And so she was told,

But now,
Cold Empty rooms,
Create the stage,
for loneliness,
depression,
uncertainty,
Questioning...

WHY?...why?...why?...
