The sunset raised “you” today,
In perfect colour,
The decaying sun,
Planted in the east,
Lived its life,
In an eight hour span,
Has died in the west,
Another day gone,
Tomorrow’s on the horizon,
Today has come to pass,
Its residue survives in memory,
As yesterdays “good old days”,
A walk down one lane Street,
The high lights are fading,
As night is called up for duty,
Granting rest to tired souls,
Finger nail moon is high,
Guarded by a single star,
Its funny how,
Where ever you may be,
We both see the same,
Having different perspectives,
Of the same heavenly lights,
We ain’t so far after all,
Just in different places,
I’ve written a love note,
With star dust twinkling,
It’s posted on the moon tonight,
And will remain forever,
But you’ll have to wait,
Till the moon is just right,
T’will be shinning special,
With the light of a thousand shooting stars,
Then and only,
You’ll know the message,
Think of me kindly,
And hold me close,
I may never see you,
Nor feel the warmth of your embrace,
All I ask,
Is that you remember me,
As the warmth you feel,
Whenever the moon’s just right,
Forever...
