The storm is over,
The seas are calm,
Occassionally there's a ripple,
Brought on by the east winds,
But like the deep oceans of the world,
Hidden, unknown, invisible to the surface,
Still waters run deep,
This dull ache that never goes away,
A reminder of the power of the invisible unknown.....

We wait, apprehensive
For it lurks just below the skin
Ready to rage any moment
To once again rip out our hearts
To stomp on it
To rip it into little pieces
And cast it into the wind
To scatter it to the four corners
And then for the tiny little pieces
To gather in slowly
Piece by piece
One by one
Not always to their right places
but like a skewed zigsaw puzzle
But still…is that what leaves the dull aches?

| The Scars of the Storm.... | November 1 2005, 9:58 AM |
Debris on beaches
Meets my stare
Flotsam below still waters
Gives that eerie glare
Broken branches
Strewn here and there
Scattered leaves
Left lying without care
Jigsaw puzzle pieces
Now marred and bare
Jagged, not smooth edges
Suddenly not so rare
Heaps of missing parts
Life can be so unfair
Must pick up the fragments
And once more dare
The fleeting calm’s
Your time to prepare
Another storm looms
Hey, do be AWARE !

Mangi-nambis,
Good question.
Hard to decipher,
But there is a desperate need,
To gather these pieces,
These worn torn pieces,
To gently clean,
Straighten and iron out the corners,
That they may fit,
One by one,
Piece by piece,
Into some semblance of order,
And hopefully down the track,
The opportunity to rebuild,
A better stronger foundation,
May be within reach,
To heal this inseparable aching....
