I am so pleased to find contacts with children like mine. My son age 4 has meatal atresia, no canal on one side and a tiny ear. We have regular hearing checks but as he can hear OK on one side I feel we are more or less ignored by health authorities. We have been advised that they can do nothing until he is fully grown and expresses a wish for surgery himself, for cosmetic reasons! By finding out about other people's experience of hearing aids and surgery I feel I can have more informed discussion with advisors here.
