We have a 13 year old daughter who has Treacher Collins Syndrome. Her case is considered pretty severe. She is still trached - still having problems with sleep apnea (is fine during the day, though). Her last surgery was for the placement of 2 BAHA's. She was recently diagnosed with scoliosis and is going to require surgery to correct it. I was curious if there may be some predisposition for those with TCS (since both bone and soft tissue are affected)to acquire scoliosis. Johns Hopkins is doing research on the possibility of a genetic component to scoliosis. Are there any older TCS patients out there who have experienced this also or is Erin an "only"?
