My wife and I have been married for 3 years now and I have Treacher Collins Syndrome (TCS). We want to start having children, but I want to go through DNA testing, so this way I do not pass TCS to our children. We have seen Genetic Counselors, and they were not very promising. The documents we have read from them and the internet has said that the DNA testing can be done in serval weeks. Our Counselor told us it would take a year to get results back, but only if the lab was certain of the results and still had funding.
We would like to know if anyone has gone through DNA testing and what was their experience with it.
We would also like to know if anyone has information on who we can contact for DNA testing.
