I finally decided to have a go at fanfiction and was wondering if you guys are currently accepting anything new? If so,how would I go about submitting it?

We're so glad you're giving it a shot! We like nothing more than encouraging a new writer to try and stretch out their skills for a test run...or more. We do have a tendency to be a little more discriminating than a lot of sites when it comes to what stories we'll choose to post. We'll only take it if you have at least 5 chapters written (provided its a series story, different rules for short story vignettes, of course). After that, Kash and I just take it on a case by case basis. That which intrigues us gets put up. That which shows a great deal of effort and thought. Stuff that's off the beaten track of the typical Anita fanfic. By that I mean, lots of people write stories about Anita ending up with whatever happens to be their favorite guy...or slash for the sake of slash with whoever happens to be their favorite TWO guys...but how many times will you see a story from Custard's point of view? Creativity on that level will particularly catch my attention.

Should you decide you'd really like to submit something to the site. It's real easy. Send it in WORD format to worldsapart@weirdsquared.com We'll pick it up from there and let you know if/when we get it posted for you. And keep in mind, we don't just take fanfiction. If there's any original pieces you'd like to display, we'll take that too. We take book reviews for our library...and suggestions for new series that you'd like to share. We take suggestions for character pics. We're soon probably going to be encouraging our visitors to send in their favorites "quotes" from their favorite characters to put up in that section. Feel free to jump in and get involved with as much as you want. The more insanity, the merrier we always say.

Oh, one other thing. If your stuff is posted, then we will ask you for a brief bio on the author (i.e. YOU) to put up in our living room. You can send us a picture if you'd like or find something to represent you. At that point, however, you'll officially be considered a staff member. You'll get your own mailbox to receive comments on your work. All sorts of cool stuff.

Anyway, good luck with your writing. Let us know if you need someone to check it over for you for errors, grammar, content, etc. We can help with that for find someone who can. We also have a couple of excellent Yahoo writing groups associated with us who I'm sure would be glad to support you in your writing endeavor.
