Yes... of curse this watch can't compare with the vintage one.. can't compare with a Rolex watch.
Could the old one??? Of course for real Tudor collectors. And lookswise it was a fantastic watch!!!!! Very 70th.
But also there... there was always my feeling.. when it's value went over that of a Daytona. The Daytona was my choice.
Ok both had a cheap movement LOOL!
Of course that is very personal. As Rolex collector i could not cope with the value of the Homeplate.
As rare as is... of course.
But for me (and that is personal) it always stood second ....
SO for me personal the new one is a great looking watch which gives some of the sex of the Homeplate... for the fraction of the cost. 70th style with a twist...And the money saved... allows to buy another cool Rolex. And as a benefit i can swim with it.
On the movement... of course... it is not much. As is on all the Breitling, Panerai,... etc watches i guess (in that price range).
But i don't care to much. It looks very sexy!
And it looks 10x better then all the other new watches like Hublot, new Panerai... etc for me. But that is personal again!
Just my 2 ct's.
And yes i would love to have a nice vintage Homeplate also... but not willing to pay 14-16 K euro for it.
And a 90th Daytona.... Arthur... still cost about 2-3 times the price of the Tudor.
Good choice of course... but not every one makes the money that easy
Have a great weekend guys!
