Response to I feel sorry for the person who bought the 1804 on VRM: They just got burnt>

I would like to disagree with the way you characterize the sale of this 1804 on VRM. Yes the seller was somewhat too optimistic about the diamond dial being original Rolex diamond dial. I do not see this deal as the buyer "getting burned" as you stated.
It is one thing to state the dial not original Rolex diamond dial and another
to just keep saying how "ugly' it is.
Also why do you think the buyer paid the top price??
The prices may be heading higher and the buyer may be happy.
You do not know who the buyer is and it is very possible that the buyer bought the watch knowing quite well what he or she was doing.
It is one thing to have a discussion on what is original and what is not and yet another to reflect on prices asked or paid.
As to the SS crown. Somehow I think that the new owner may be able to get one from Rolex. As to the bracelet, it was clearly shown as a hidden clasp design,
so why would you bring the bracelet into the discussion?
Steve I think you went overboard with your criticism.
I did sense some motive here as well, sorry to say.
