Isn't it more a question of how much value you would place on owning the piece?

Many would ask what is your views on this piece, is it correct?

It may be hard to engender debate on your posting when your other postings seem to 'estrange' relationships with other respected members. Some may question why they should venture their opinions based on years of experience of handling such watches if when offered it is put to one side as it may not fit the 'other' story being offered of the watch itself.

I'm not suggesting you postrate yourself before the VRF altar or like a postulate blindly follow the 'word of god'.

It would be nice to see articulation of your real understanding of the piece as an expression of your depth of knowledge and understanding of the perceived value whether that is expressed in amount of $ it may be worth or expressed by eg collectability, desirability, correctness or originality, whatever 'coinage' in which you may want to measure it.

There are a lot of really knowledgeable people on this forum who offer advice and opinions generously, inpartially and freely but on occassion expect a little investment by the individual concerned in helping themselves first. Have you done your homework on the piece, what conclusions have you drawn, what are the strengths and weaknesses of the watch.

It will be interesting to see how this thread evolves.

regards

John
