This is the first indication I've found to-date of a US Corporation in 1957 seeking advice from the AEC as to the required standards necessary for the use of their developed tritium paint for such applications as watch dials amongst many others.
This may explain in part the reason why tritium was selected and released by the AEC in 1959 for non watch applications and subsequently from January 1961 for use with watch dials. In essence US commercial interests looking at market opportunities
