So far the rumor is that Geneva will introduce a perpetual calendar movement, in a non oyster case, (logical then) as new top model of the not so successful Cellini range. Its exciting news as it's since mid 50-ies Rolex will sell us in the near further a highly complicated movement, with automatic winding, we vintage Rolex lovers adore the ref 6062 Stelline & ref 8171 Padellone. Finally Rolex will have a watch in their collection that can meet the desire of PPC, AP, Breguet, VC lovers. Now we have seen that already in 2004 Rolex patented several annual calendar movement, components, just recently Rolex patented a new case design, yes rectangular, maybe for the new perpetual calendar, maybe to change the flamboyant Cellini Prince design Maria Calvani invented

Already patented in 2004 'Annual Calendar' movement by Rolex ...
Let's wait and see, i'm excited to see what they have come with
but would loved to see this complication in a oyster case, imho!

I found also the patent from Rolex their Heritage, a application patented June 11, 1963 for the GMT case with rounded guards..Interesting for us vintage Rolex lovers, we see at the top that their patent at United States Patent Office got filled already on April 14th 1961 from swiss application on October 14th 1960! with rounded guards already in process!
