I have been collecting vintage watches longer than most on this forum and longer than this forum is in existence.
The knowledge obtained by actually owning a piece and being able to closely examine it cannot be matched by reading posts on forums.
Input of others is helpful, no doubt. There are many here who have more experience with certain models of vintage Rolex and at times I will seek their opinion. However I think twice now before posting a watch here whilst my motives should be questioned and they have been...
My collection is always in flux. I am always ready to move the piece to the next
person so they can hopefully learn from it and enjoy it for a while.
This obviously affords me the opportunity to buy other watches.
I have may watches that I find interesting that some of you would not give them a second look. My pocket watch collection numbers over 70 pieces and how many people buy pocket watches nowadays.
So keep in mind one thing, most who have been buying vintage watches for years
do it mostly for the pleasure of it and the knowledge. The profit realized from any sales is just the icing on the cake.
