23-9293 is the Rolex part # for the correct and unique spring bar for the Rolex 1016 Explorer. 1.8mm is the length of the tip of the spring bar with a diameter of 1.2mm.
I have found that quite often incorrect spring bars are fitted to many watches so I would not assume that the spring bars that you tried from another watch are correct.
