The 9 may well have some shrinkage, but it's not overly clear that it has. As you say, much can happen over 60 years. The lume is very consistent across the numbers.
The watch is extremely nice. The dial has some slight pitting that is evenly distributed across it. The case is just stunning for a watch this old. OK, it has some signs of work, but in keeping. Our mutual friend checked the watch in detail before I took it so ensuring that it was correct regarding movement, serial number and engravings.
So, if the only question on it concerns the shrinkage of the lume on the 9, then you are right that I am happy with the watch. Well, I am not happy, I am delighted.
