It's interesting that not only is there a proliferation in 'rare' faded bezel inserts but in scarce parts of all types. I wonder how many of these are aged 'synthetically'
Furthermore, looking back through the history of VRM it seems that in recent times there has been an explosion in availability of rare parts at super high prices.
I wonder how many beautiful and complete vintage watches are being cynically disassembled so that the sum of the parts being sold is greater than the whole ?
If this is really happening (as I suspect it is). To me, as a collector, that would be a great shame !!
I do understand that supply of rare components could be regarded as a 'facility' to replace missing or broken parts, but nonetheless reducing the number of beautiful 'complete' watches for profit does not sit well with me.
