Early ref.16550 Explorer II with red enamel bezel?

Hi,
When reading Dowling & Hess book I noticed (p.245) that, in the beginning (~1986?) there was a very peculiar version of the Explorer II ref.16550 with red bezel enamelling. According to D&H, the very first of the new ref.16550 were finished like this. There are no photographs in their book so I wondered if there are more information on this particular version of the first ref.16550 Explorer II:s within the VRF community.
