Response to The $80 mechanical watch vs my Rolex 1018

are exceptional value for money and for what they are. These little quiet achievers made in the far East are the best secret in town. They are as rugged and reliable as most other timepieces made there like Seiko, which were indestructible especially amongst Soldiers during the Vietnam war.

Mine is a 40mm in 316L stainless steel with a miyota automatic movement. I have been wearing it as a daily beater for almost 5 years. I can replace the movement for some $25 and do it myeelf which is far cheaper than servicing it, even if I were to do it myself when considering that I will need to buy the oils and cleaning hydrocarbons that are not cheap either. Enjoy both of yours in good health!!!!
