THanks for the sincere and informative reply, the first I have really had in the forum. I had suspected this might be one of the first cosmographs with the "Daytona" label, hence my original question about the 1966/65 productiondate that generated a little ridicule. To me it was an important element because I was born in 66 and wanted this piece to be "significant".
I am glad to see that the smaller print may be a hint that this was one of the first, I was having a hard time finding another dial like this, most either had a larger font for the word "Daytona" or the traditional positioning over the 06:00 subdial.
The watch is at home, so I will check the specifics re: date on clasp, and end piece numbers, etc..... As for inside the caseback, Ihave not looked inside, but when I had it recently with Rolex (this past month) they did a restorative overhaul, new crown and new crystal. Otherwise nothing has been changed to my knowledge. Regrettably the original Canadian owner had passed away and left the watch to his son. His son was in need of some $$$ to start a family and we came to an agreement on the watch. There is no box an papers, but I do have the recently provided service documentation from Rolex and their service warranty card.
Anyhow, thanks again for your comments, I will let you know the other details when I can verify them at home.
