to make a list of the suspected items, with the corresponding sellers.
If it would show that certain sellers sell these questionable things more often, there is a point. Original faded ones are that rare, selling these every day is just not possible. A seller selling these on a regular bases knows if it is cooked or not.
A direct mail from a mod to point that out to the seller could help.
He for example should have the future obligation to state in the ad if it was chemically altered or not.
The occasional seller that sells one in a year should not get into problems then, only the semi-professional "cooks".
And perhaps showing that list of sellers to the forum would show potential buyers that even if it is original Rolex, paying a premium is not logical.
Apart from that, starting this discussion will most certainly have a "calming-down" effect on ridiculous prices some people are paying for these inserts.
With prices more in line with non-faded ones, no-one gets hurt buying a chemically altered specimen.
