one thing that allways is a sure sign of refurbish is...

March 2 2010, 12:23 PM

a soft lugghole, i dont think this can happen by just wear and tear, perhaps somebody with more knowledge can chip in

ive seen a few very good almost perfect polish jobs but the softnes around the luggholes is a dead giveaway

i cant get my scans from work otherwise i have a few first owner/ never polished watches that had that look

never the less a stunning watch

cheers
christian

re: lug holes

March 2 2010, 12:45 PM

Those looked pretty sharp to me, but I'm less experienced than many here. In any case, how did Rolex polish these watches in the factory (the original case polish) without softening the holes? Do they make the holes after polishing?

Best,
Ian

The sides are not polished with a buff

March 2 2010, 8:12 PM

which tends to round off the edges.
A hard felt lap is used instead.

March 2 2010, 12:42 PM

That watch is really great. Thanks for sharing the photos. I love the fat bevels on the 1675s.

Perhaps one day when I'm ready to buy another I will inquire about your faithful source!

Best,
Ian
