This one came from the original owner.

He bought it in '69. I was able to resurrect the original 1039 bracelet albeit some modifications to a later endpiece.

It's working super now!

It's such a '69 Camaro....or Vette....you know it's a real kind of GM watch. I'm a Ford guy it feels weird LOL!

Really cool. Do you have papers indicating watch is all original, just curious?

As the inlay is an original blue insert... but not born with the watch.

The redhand is also original. As i have a complete 100% original set of dial/hands from a first owner red-hand.
And all details and special typical details only seen at 400% makro are 100% matching. Tritium,.. colour,... kind of finish... edges... structure..

Of course the watch was never born like this....

But a friend of mine has a blue bezel orange patina (like this one) UAE GMT....... and for me that watch is the BEST ÜBER-GMT i know.
And ever since i layed my eye on it i wanted a GMT with the same look like that.


A GMT is just a GMT for me... play-time. For me not the same as my Comex, Newman,... and more of a beater with style.
So for me personal i have no problem with creating my personal LOVE-BABY..... from original parts.

As long as you not trying to sell it as something different.

On the grail watches.. i am very strict.... and of course all the other watches in the collection. Prefer provenance... authenticity..
But one 1 of my watches i am happy to make an exception!

Just for the cooooool looks of it!

Now, before anyone responds, let me beat you to the punch:

"Yes, it's a re-dial". Sad but true.

Actually, it's a re-re-dial as I've just had it return from corrective surgery to undo a horrific repaint that happened way back when Nixon was in office--all done in black, the word "chronometer" was substituted for "chronograph", registers were off-center, absolutely dreadful.

So it's not 100% faithful to the original dial, as those of you who have been around will see in an instant, but at least it's back to its original tri-color configuration. And it'll do until the day when I find an original replacement dial. Or hit the lottery. Or stumble onto a time-machine and am able to go back and scream "NOOOOO!" before the watch was first re-done.
