Im currently trying to identify what were the relation between Rolex/Tudor watches and Swiss made TROPIC rubber straps.
What I have read on forums (including VRF) related to our common passion is that :
- MN Tudor Submariners were originally delivered to the French Marine Nationale on TROPIC strap
- Plexy subs (5512/5513/1680) could originally be ordered from Rolex on TROPIC strap rather than Oyster
- NYC Rolex use to put them on the watch for 18$ until around 1999
But I have never seen any original document like catalogue, commercial, original purchase or RSC bill that could give a strong support to those histories.
Anyone could bring solid elements ?
