How do you size a 7836 bracelet ?

I have a 7836 bracelet with 13 links. It is too big for me as I have small wrist (6-3/4 inches).
How do I size it? do I have to pry open the center link? If so, it will almost destroy the bracelet, isn't it?
It is in such a nice shape that I would feel bad to do it.
Is there other ways?

Send it to Mike Young!

Send it to Mike Young and he can take out the extra links for you. Just measure it carefully and tell him how many links need to come off......
Sure, you'll wait forever but better to wait for it and have it eventually come back after 90 days fitting your wrist than to try to give it to an amateur who will only bend all your center links and cut himself in the process.
I did it....and it was so worth the wait!!!!

for the advice. The only problem is getting in touch with Micheal Young before sending.

Just send it to the PO Box #. He'll get it!

I have done this countless times and it always comes back within 90 days or so......
As long as it goes to the PO Box that he lists, he'll get it.
I think I was lucky in getting one or two of his e-mails discussing some details of the work.
Besides that, he normally only writes you letting you know of your balance of the work done.

That's your problem, expecting to speak with Michael before you ship it.
That is most people's mistake.
Just send it to his PO Box, with a note stating what is to be done, and he will get it and send you an email when it's done.
Very simple.
And you will receive a bracelet that is perfect.

under what name did you send the bracelet to?

Did you just send to the PO Box # or did you send it to Classic watch part or Micheal Young?

I have had my AD shorten folded links with perfect result...

June 16 2011, 4:39 AM

Maybe pure luck since so many suggests MY but for me it feels a bit over-ambitious to send it just for that purpose if it is in perfect condition. One thing if you want to fix stretch and so on but just for sizing it?

Good luck anyway. My AD helped me and it didn't even cost me money. Of course I got the extra link to go with me.
