Dear all,

had some time with my camera today and these here are the results: images of my newest addition, which reached my on Thursday from Belgium. Had to let my 6536 go for it, so it's a real upgrade wink.gif

Submariner Big Crown
Ref 6538
Serial no 426xxx, about 1958
Rivetted stretch bracelet 4/59
Superdomed crystal
T 25 Service dial (about end of sixties I think)
Service-Inlay (with red triangle happy.gif)

Comments appreciated wink.gif

I'm sure it was all well worth it even if you had to let your 6536 go. That is in great condition. Wear it in good health!

Best,
Jon

The water-tightness has potential

August 28 2011, 3:18 PM

Thx John, but I fear with that crystal there's no way to get this thing tight...the crystal seems to be really ooooooold and porous...but the look, the look happy.gif))

Submariner word on top of the depth is a nice feature too!

Watch looks nice, though I'm not fond of:

Hands, which look all painted with white.

The red triangle is not original to that insert.

Yes, I know

August 28 2011, 3:12 PM

The hands are not white but seem to be bare aluminium...no idea why they have been used...looks like a cheap service in the 60ties. The red triangle...inserts of that area should have it in silver, I know...theoretically. However the red looks old, so who knows wink.gif

As for the hands: if you stumble over some gilt hands for the 1030 calibre, let me know happy.gif
