I have a 1665 DRSD question that I have never asked or wondered before now. I must have assumed (and we all know what assuming does) that the parts were identical without really checking first. I had the bezel parts replaced during a service at NYRSC back in 08'. The pearl is now luminox and not the original tritium. If I were to get an original tritium pearl....here it comes......Would the bezel housing accept the tritium pearl or is the shape different? Is the outer bezel housing the same part as the original? I do know that the part came directly from Geneva but I just don't know if it is "exactly" the same part. Does anyone still stock NOS of the original tritium pearls? I know some have used ones but NOS, that would be ideal. Perhaps from Geneva?
I think that was a bad question. If I got the original insert, would it fit in the outer housing that I recieved during the service with the new insert and hence allow me to put an older tritium pearl in it?
Post a picture of your insert. Is it an original FAT FONT as it would have been in the 70's or is it the service THIN FONT? If its a thin font putting a tritium pearl in there wont do you much good if your looking for period correct. The bezel ring they sold you is the same size as the original and the inserts will interchange.

Thats good, now to find a mint condition fat font insert with a mint condition NOS tritium pearl. I know people search high and low for these items to do just what I am intending to do. Seems that all of the "original" stuff would have run out by now.
