Wow, if that's true it is pretty exciting....

Rolex do seem to be having some fun with the Tudor line. Being in the UK we don't get to see the current models, but a friend recently bought back the latest catalogue from KL for me. The Heritage series is interesting with the well known Monte Carlo reissue and the less seen Advisor. Some of the classic Oysters are still evident and the use of the Tudor Rose on some of the ladies watches is cool. Tudor is undoubtably a niche market, but so is vintage Rolex in context to the main Rolex brand and maybe they are testing the reissues through Tudor for now.

Whatever, if a BC reissue is released it'll defo be on my wrist this year wink.gif

Thanks forthe heads up P!

Looks like true...somebody posted it to early

February 6 2012, 1:46 PM

as we normally see the Rolex & Tudor new at the start of Basel World, and that's still 1 month to go.
apparently somebody was overactive and posted it already, immediately it was disappeared from the site:

As I said before, Caetano spotted it, when i asked if it was a re edition of 7924,
he said yes but could not get in the website as me to copy a full picture by then

Yes, it's great for Tudor & somehow good for Rolex.
Latest news i've heard on new Rolex models are:
New Yachtmaster, Pink gold GMT & perpetual calendar like Padellone in non oyster case,
No new steel Daytona, Submariner or what so ever...

Found more details..

and a bigger picture herehttp://orologi.forumfree.it/?t=60128977

Ref is 79220R, so seems to be a re-issue of 7924. It has a gilt dial and chapter ring, with snowflake hands! more importantly no WG surrounds, thank god!!! 41mm case. Shame the bezel is red or "bordeaux". All in all, not bad though.

In very free historical correct design elements, like snow flake on BC

Agreed

February 9 2012, 8:59 AM

I think it is hideous, it's a pastiche of cues from various models/years that just looks silly to me. And why red? Cause it's cool? If anything it should be blue!

I'm hoping this is just a case of someone using photoshop to fool the press...
