End of an era for another trad. watchmaker ....

Just a tribute to my local watchmaker who retired this week.

After 52 years operating from the same tiny shop here in Wellington, NZ, Horst Maluschnig has hung up his tools.

Horst was the real deal - there was no horological challenge he hadn't seen before and the man could work miracles with a tired old movement.

Sad to see him go.

Yes agreed. My dear inspiration is still going...after 73 or 74 years at the bench.

He swears he is going to retire again...at 90. I cherish each minute I get to spend at his side...or looking over his shoulder.
