Ok I've been watching this over the last couple of weeks and it's getting more and more prevalent.

There is a scam going on and there are some similar patterns between them all.

So far:

1. All the users have been registered in Ireland.

2. All the users have a location of " . "

3. All the users have been registered in Feb 2012

4. All the users have feedback made up of $0.99 purchases.

5. All the items being sold have been vintage watches - Omega Speedmasters, Pateks etc

6. All the watches have "Auctiva" photos in the listings.

7. All the listings are for £1000 Buy it Nows.

8. All the listings have delivery as Estimated 6-7 working days.

So far the ebay scammers I have seen are ebay name meringuee, ebay name kandiianna and tonights was ebay name riahiggria

Tonights listing is below:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Vintage-Omega-Watch-/251013777530?pt=UK_Jewelery_Watches_Watches_MensWatches_GL&hash=item3a7196487a#ht_2565wt_1346

Hope this helps someone from not getting scammed.

Be careful out there!

hold funds untill the watch is delivered and confirmed?? Unless they pay via other means... bank wire etc then the scammer has money in the bank as i have learned the hard way.

sad but ebay, for all it's indications

March 10 2012, 4:31 PM

does not care about scammers. Bought a seagate notebook drive, described as "new", and registered user & item location UK

what arrived was a used drive, from malaysia

notified ebay, no interest - The fact that the seller had mis-described his and the item's location had no importance to them, nor any indication of his honesty. 2 weeks later, checked the seller's feedback again, and a number of buyers were reporting the same issue.

ebay must figure they'll get as much in commissions as they can before the market stops buying from that seller. Unfortunately though, a number of buyers have to be scammed or sacrificed to serve ebay's interest first
