Don't know much about this dial. Never seen this one before (look closely at the finish). Maybe someone here has? Any info would be much appreciated. Ref. 1803 and 2,5xxxxx serial #

Thanks,
Greg

I think this one has the same textured black finish, gold print.

Yes... Think it's the same.

Hard to see in the photo. Does yours have tiny red and blue/green specks (almost looks like it was sprayed on)???

Thanks,
Greg

Dial: Printing Color

Interesting that with these two almost identical gold watches one would have gold dial lettering and the other white. I'm surprised that Rolex would have offered this much of a selection (even these two) for an already rather distinct, unique and beautiful dial variation...

Here are two more...

March 21 2012, 11:18 PM

...I have seen these sparkle dials on both Day-Date and Datejust from the mid 1970s. Here are some photos I took of a black Datejust one similar to the two above and also a dark chocolate brown one that was on a Day-Date.

I have been fascinated by these glitter-like dials for years and am always surprised by the number of dial variations from this period.
