Richard, additional dial question on TOG

April 4 2012, 10:22 PM

Does the TOG-specifically the 1625-pie pan version use the same dail as a standard 160X DJ or is it a smaller DATE size labeled Datejust? Thanks and best regards, Greg

I always thought the 1625 dials were somewhat smaller? (NT)

yes dale

while the dials look interchangeable with a standard datejust, the thunderbird dial is indeed smaller due to the unique case design to house the rotating bezel and crystal retaining ring.

That is very, very interesting--never knew that...

April 5 2012, 10:11 AM

...good thing to look for re: originality would be minute tick/T SWISS T spillover under the rehaut, indicating a standard DJ dial mounted in a 1625.

T-birds definitely "wear" a bit bigger because the bezel edge overlaps the case a little...

Thanks for the cool info, Fred, and all the best,
