I haven't done that on my 1675, but I did have Rolex Service SF swap out the black bezel on my Y series GMT II for a Coke bezel during a recent overhaul (I've had it for now almost 8 years so it was due), and you are absolutely correct: it's like having a new watch on your wrist, and I love it.
