FS: Rolex Day-Date 1803
I was looking at the above recent post to the market. I have no idea who Martin the seller is I am curios about the pictures he was kind of enough to provide. In particular, could someone look at the last picture with the REGISTERED DESIGN. Has this been re-etched to make it stand out. Does not look stamped. I ask only because I have been searching for a 1803 for some time and figure I can learn from each ad I see.
It is an early SWISS dial watch with correct period uncommon cigaret hands. The back of the lugs have a the the correct early single chop hallmark (later ones had 2 and then 3) the lug side profile is the correct early slim version and the case-back has the correct shallow returns.(so a watch not made of parts)
As for the engraving I've seen far worse than that on early watches.
It's an honest watch and even though he is a good friend I can tell you he's not being greedy. You can buy from Martin with confidence as he will always stand by his sales.
