I have a question that I've wondered about for 30+ years and I'm hoping someone here can answer it for me.

I bought my pride and joy Sub in 1991. I had been seriously looking at them since around 1985. I'm not sure how I became aware of the Sub line, but I have a faint memory of visiting a high end jewelry store with my parents when I was much younger and seeing a display in the store. I loved that display and I wonder now if it was a Submariner display.

I remember it as a domed glass countertop display filled with water and it had an oyster in it. There was also a watch in it, as I recall, but I don't remember the model as I was quite young.

Could that have been a Sub? Does anyone remember such a display? Thanks for any help.
